Altech Academy Bursary Student Breakfast:

On the 23rd January our twenty one bursary students attended a breakfast with Craig Venter, Johan Klein, Wessie van der Westhuizen, Johan Carstens, Andy Baker and Glenda Singh at the Melrose Arch Hotel.

The aim of the session was for all the students to get acquainted with each other and with the Executives. Craig Venter did a presentation to the students in order for them to gain a deeper insight into the Altech Group.

We received over 200 applications in the latter part of 2008 from interested students. All applications were screened and, successful applicants underwent psychometric assessments followed by panel interviews. We chose thirteen students and with our eight from 2008 we have a total of twenty one students.

The twenty one students are studying at Universities around the country. Bursaries were awarded to students studying in the Information Technology and Engineering fields.

Many of you will interact with these students as they will be undertaking their vac work at the operations during the July and December holidays. Below is a picture of the students with the Altech team.
